Research

The Department of Pediatrics is integrated into a dynamic research environment at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where innovative and effective treatments and cures are under development. We have a focus in both basic and clinical research and consistently rank among the top departments nationally in National Institutes of Health funding for medical research. Research conducted by faculty members of the Department of Pediatrics has changed the outcomes for childhood conditions and diseases. From reducing perinatal HIV transmission to the National Children’s Study, to protecting the heart from chemotherapy, we will continue to be at the forefront of exciting research in child health.
